Stephanie has been a Board Certified Behavior Analyst for 17 years. She is currently a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Texas. Stephanie started her own company, ROOTS, ABA Therapy in 2020 with the goal of providing high-quality services to families with individuals with special needs. Stephanie has had a unique journey and knew she had a passion working with the special needs population since she was a teenager. Her first job was as a direct-care staff at a residential home for adults with severe challenging behaviors, at the age of 15. In 2001, she graduated from Bowie High School and had the goal of becoming a Special Education teacher. She attended The University of Texas at Austin where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 and then earned her Master's in Education in 2006. She started as a "junior therapist" at the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (C.A.R.D.) where she began her career in the ABA world. Stephanie eventually became a Case Consultant at C.A.R.D., and a Supervisor for the Specialized Outpatient Services model, specifically treating individuals with feeding disorders, toilet training needs, and assisting with pill-camera "swallowing" studies. In 2009, Stephanie became an independent contractor and has worked for herself for over a decade. In addition to working for herself, Stephanie was also employed at various ABA agencies as a Supervisor, including Behavior Frontiers and Center for Applied Behavior Analysis (Los Angeles), where she worked collaboratively with other professionals and experts in her field. She has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages and numerous types of developmental delays.
We have known Stephanie Etie for over 14 years. She has provided ABA therapy for our now-adult son over that time. Her treatment has improved his social and communication skills, daily living, and self-regulation skills. Stephanie goes out of her way to include us in his treatment planning. Personable, creative, and reliable, he would not be where he is today without her.
And we mean every word!
